Meet Kyle Peterson

Kyle Peterson is the Member of Parliament for Newmarket-Aurora, a community he has called home for most of his life, and where he is proud to be raising his family now.

In January 2016, Kyle was appointed to the Standing Committee on International Trade, which studies international trade policy and the global trade and investment environment. In January 2017, Kyle was appointed to the Government Operations Committee, which studies the effectiveness and proper functioning of government operations, on the estimates process as well as on the expenditure plans of central departments and agencies.

Prior to being elected, Kyle was practicing commercial litigation and advocacy as a partner at the firm of Affleck Greene McMurtry LLP. He also has experience as an executive and entrepreneur. Kyle has a history of community involvement, including as a Director of the United Way for 5 years, and currently serves as the Chair of the Aurora-Newmarket Family Health Team.

Kyle holds a B.A. from Western University, an M.A. from the University of Toronto, a J.D. from Dalhousie University, and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management. Kyle, his wife Andrea and two sons live in Newmarket.
